This two-day course teaches the Lean-Agile principles and practices of the Scaled Agile Framework® (SAFe®). You’ll learn how to execute and release value through Agile Release Trains, how to build an Agile Portfolio, and how to lead a Lean-Agile transformation at enterprise scale. You will gain an understanding of the Lean-Agile mindset and how to apply the principles and practices of SAFe to support Agile teams, programs, program portfolio management, and to coordinate large Value Streams.

Attending the class prepares you to take the exam and become a certified SAFe® Agilist (SA)

Course Details:

The registration fee includes attendee workbooks, eligibility to take the SAFe Agilist exam, one-year membership to Scaled Agile and a SAFe Agilist attendance certificate (upon request). Breakfast, lunch and beverages will be provided each day.

The SAFe Agilist (SA) certification validates knowledge in applying the Scaled Agile Framework, lean, and product development flow principles in an enterprise context for leading the adoption of the Scaled Agile Framework.

Attendees who pass the exam will receive:

  • A SAFe Agilist certificate
  • One-year certified membership as a SAFe Agilist
  • SAFe Agilist branding kit with the SA certification mark
Certification Prerequisites and Process:

All are welcome to attend the course, regardless of experience. However, the following prerequisites are highly recommended for those who intend to take the SA certification exam.

  • 5+ years experience in software development, testing, business analysis, product or project management
  • Experience in Scrum

Mike Harris (SPC4)
Mike Harris is the CEO & President of DCG Software Value. He is also a Certified Scrum Master and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Program Consultant. Mike is well-versed in SAFe, having led client engagements facilitating SAFe transformations and having served as the instructor for a number of SAFe training courses. He is a regular presenter at conferences discussing Agile, SAFe and the Value Visualization Framework, among other topics. His full bio is available here.

Tom Cagley
Tom Cagley is the Vice President of Consulting with DCG Software Value. He is also a Certified Scrum Master and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Program Consultant. Tom has worked with a variety of clients, across industries, to effectively start and improve Agile implementations. He runs a popular blog on Software Process and Measurement, as well as a website, the Software Process and Measurement Cast (SPAMCast), where he frequently discusses Agile-related topics. Tony Timbol (SPC4)
Tony Timbol is the Vice President of Sales with DCG Software Value. He is also a Certified Scrum Master and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Program Consultant. Tony has provided on-site Agile training and consulting for numerous organizations, helping to ensure that the cultural changes required with Agile fully come to fruition. Terms and Conditions:

Should we need to change dates, locations or cancel a class, registrants will be notified at least two weeks prior to the class start date. Registrants will have the option to transfer to another class or receive a full refund.

PDUs and SEUs Credits:
  • Attendees may be eligible to apply for 16 PDUs toward their continuing education requirements with the Project Management Institute (PMI) for PMP and PMI-ACP certifications.
  • Attendees may be eligible to apply for SEUs under category C, toward earning or renewing their CSP through Scrum Alliance.
